Calm Down, Ringo!

Calm Down, Ringo! is a tribute to the man John Lennon called the “best backbeat in the business.”  It takes as its inspiration and point of departure the one solo recorded by this shiest of rock drummers, on the song “The End” on The Beatles’ final studio recording, Abbey Road.  Calm Down, Ringo! was premiered by members of the University of Michigan Percussion Studio in March, 1998 and received its second performance  at the 2000 New Music Festival of the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse.
